2015 Big Biology and Bioinformatics Symposium (B3 2015)
The theme for the B3 2015 Symposium, held at QUT Gardens Point on 23 & 24 November 2015, was omics data integration and how common principles, techniques, methods and technologies can be applied across transdisciplinary projects. To build the knowledge and skills of the diverse B3 community, the symposium focused on teaching the 'how' of data integration rather than focusing on individual research outcomes. Keynote speakers included Seán O'Donoghue (CSIRO Office of the Chief Executive Science Leader & Group Leader, Garvan Institute of Medical Research), Roger Hellens (Professor of Agricultural Biotechnology, QUT) and Stephen Cameron (Principal Research Fellow/Bioscience Discipline Leader, QUT School of Earth, Environmental and Biological Sciences). The symposium was hosted by QUT's Institute for Future Environments (IFE) and the Institute for Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) and supported by generous industry sponsors.
